JPEG’s (Joint Photograhic Expert Group) compress large files into smaller files and are used very often on website, mostly they are used for image compression. Here is and example of a JPEG image:

JPEG images can vary from high quality to low quality depending on what settings have been chosen.

Doom

Doom was created in 1993 for the PC by game developers id Software and was one of the original FPS’s (First Person Shooter). It was recognized for it’s use of 3D graphics, networked multiplayer on the PC and the ability to add custom exspansions.

“Doom was downloaded by an estimated 10 million people within two years, popularizing the mode of gameplay and spawning a gaming subculture”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_%28video_game%29

Many FPS’s thet were created in the mid-1990s were reffered to as “Doom clones” due to the similar gameplay and look of the games.

 According to Gamespy, Doom was voted the greatest game of all time in 2004.
